St. Mary School Teacher  Awarded
Outstanding Catholic Educator Award

Mrs. Kathy Shirley, St. Mary’s Jr. High Language Arts teacher, is recognized by Superintendent Michael Kagan, as he presents her with the Outstanding Catholic Educator Award.  We have many fine teachers, who epitomize the modeling of our faith, wonderful teaching styles and leading great projects in the classroom and the entire school.   The Diocese of Rockford Education Department recognizes teachers from four different areas of our diocese with this Outstanding Catholic Educator Award.

St. Mary Elementary & Jr. High is so proud of Mrs. Shirley for winning this award, and for representing the entire Rockford region of the Diocese.  We are blessed to have this Outstanding Catholic Educator teach our children at our school.

From our Principal

Dear St. Mary Families,

We are grateful to you, our parents, for your commitment to Catholic education and for choosing St. Mary Elementary and Jr. High School for your child's school for academic, social and spiritual formation.

We are grateful to the Home and School Association who work tirelessly to plan many events throughout the year. So many of the gatherings that take place at our school are, in large part, because of the members of this organization. Our parents are truly the ones who make it all happen.  With that said, we are especially thankful for the $80,000. that was raised in fundraising this past school year.

It takes a village to produce a successful school environment and our gratitude is unending.

On behalf of my faculty and staff, I thank you.
